Clock Speeds

The speed of the memory are all relative to the bandwidths of  the memory at its given clock speed when the memory modules are compared.  DDR memories typical bus speeds are PC2100-266, PC2700-333, PC3200-400, PC3500-433, PC3700-466, PC4000-500, PC4400-550, PC4800-600.  While typical DDR2 have clock speeds at PC2-3200-400, PC2-4200-533, PC2-5300-667, PC2-6400-800, PC2-8000-1000, PC2-8500-1066, PC2-8888-1111, PC2-9136-1142, PC2-10000-1250.  The speed of the memory components and modules is one  of the factors affecting in optimizing a memory, that is the reason why computer systems always require a memory component speed.

DDR
DDR is a 184 pin DIMMS were launched intentionally to replaced the SDRAM module.  Available in different speeds.  These type of RAMS are used either singly or however it suitable, but you can not mix the speeds together.  DDR describes moving data to the throughput memory controller at double its rate.  Dual channel architecture technology is adopted by the motherboard industry as a high-bandwidth DRAM that is very cost effective and ideal for every PC available in the market that supports DDR.  Most AMD and Intel processors support DDR that provide muscle for the computer system that require to deliver outstanding performance.

DDR2 and DDR3
Double data rate (DDR) rams evolved into dd2 and ddr3 memory technology in order to compensate for the computers high bandwidth memory.  These can be used single or match them up in pairs.  DDR2 has a 240-pin memory module for desktops and 200-pin modules for notebooks.  DDR3 has improved thermal design and enhanced power features would mean a longer battery life for laptops, and higher bandwidth performance.  DDR3 is the recent memory standard taking over DDR2 and its standards, with improved memory speed transfers.   Although DD3 have the same memory pin as DDR2, their notch is placed differently as to mistakingly install them.  DDR3 is not backward compatible so and runs lower at 1.5 volts.
