LCD Monitors

Flat panels have been more common in the office than in the home due to their higher prices.  Thanks to the advantage in technology their price has been coming down though some flat panel screens still are not quite as clear as their as their CRT cousins of the same size.  The CRT has been the standard used monitor ever since, but as the image quality of the monitors continue to improve, there are still vital areas which should be addressed mainly like power consumption, size, and radiation.  The answer to this is the TFT-LCD. They are compact with regards to their size but deliver great video quality meeting the needs of day to day computing.

If games and movies are your fancy it is best to look for an LCD that features a response time under 20ms, ideally under 16ms if you can afford this as this will mean you will enjoy ghost trail-free fun.  Having a fast response time you are able to present blistering 3D gaming, acquiring smoother computer video, animation and gaming movement.  If you plan to show colleagues your work for instance, or sit with friends playing games or watching movies, then the wider the viewing angle, the better.
