Microsoft’s Vista simultaneously release the 32bit and x64 editions which totally gave a facelift on how desktops look.  With its new visual style looks featuring amazing graphical user interface (GUI), redesigned networking and multimedia tools all aimed to increase communication between PC and devices.

Operating systems are used in order for the PC hardware to communicate properly with the softwares to perform and execute tasks in an orderly manner.  All desktop and laptops have operating systems.  And the most commonly used is Microsoft Windows family of operating systems, the Macintosh operating systems by Apple and the Unix family of operating systems.

Microsoft Windows is clearly dominating in the operating systems released under a proprietary software license including the most used operating system on desktops where Linux is leading in the operating systems released under the free software license.  But  still the two operating systems is constantly battling for user based in the PC market including the server market.  Although both Windows and Linux have a different philosophy and cost, versatility and ease of use,  each is endlessly seeking to improve in their week points.
